Late spring (May–June) and early autumn (September–October) are ideal—you'll avoid summer crowds and get mild weather perfect for exploring the rock cities. Winter's magical if you don't mind snow, but many trails get icy. Summer works too, just expect busy weekends around Draky and Prachov rock formations.

Absolutely! The riverside paths along the Dyje are mostly flat and shaded, making them perfect for strollers or tired legs. The 4-kilometer loop from Znojmo to the Beaver Pond viewpoint is a favorite with families. Just watch for uneven ground near the river edge.

Most Petřín paths take 1–2 hours depending on your pace and which attractions you visit. The observation tower adds 30 minutes, and the botanical garden route is about 90 minutes round trip. You can easily combine multiple trails into a half-day adventure.

Sturdy hiking boots with good grip are essential—the sandstone paths get slippery when wet and uneven in places. Bring plenty of water and sun protection. For the harder routes through narrow passages (like at Prachov), you'll appreciate trekking poles for balance.
